| Lecon Aerodynamic Systems For
advanced set-up of down-force adjustment at the
rear wing of a Grand Prix car, beside many other
detail constructions in a huge aerodynamic
construction package, in 1991 Lecon
Engineering
developed an aerodynamic chassis construction
comprising exactly measured slots leading the
cooling airstream to the upside of the chassis.
In short distance to these slots the exhaust
pipes are lead out upwardly too.
The
patented system named Airtronic™ is part
of the construction and design package for the Leconte
Motorsport
programme preparing entry into Formula racing
with own racing cars on basis of revolutionary
new Airtronic™ aerodynamic
chassis constructions.
One
small part of this high-tech construction package
which in its whole embraces more than 50 single
constructions and 3 patents, with regard to its
rear upside chassis-aerodynamics incorporates
exactly measured slots leading the cooling
airstream to the upside of the chassis. In short
distance to these slots the exhaust pipes are
lead out upwardly too, resulting in a
suction-effect with regard to the cooling
airstream through the carīs side-boxes and
accelerating the overall speed of this airstream
relatively to the surrounding driving air stream.
If
by way of exactly adaptable flaps for controlling
the direction and quanity of the out streaming
cooling air, this airstream is led at wish
beneath or directly onto or upon the exhaust gas
stream, the pressure intensity of the additional
streaming onto the rear wing gets further defined
depending on the prefered aerodynamic set-up. As
a proper result of this construction, the
airstream at the rear wing gets much more
calculable than in the past.
In
approproate coordination with rear wing design
and adjustment, air resistance at the rear-wing
decreases proportionally to the overall driving
speed. The combined stream of cooling air and
exhaust gas gets flatter the more the car is
accelerated, producing less pressure onto the
rear-wing during high speed straight drive and
more pressure when driving through corners in
lower speed.
However,
Airtronic™ aerodynamic
chassis constructions go much beyond that one
effectful construction mentioned above. The
formula racing car prepared by Leconte Motorsport will
incorporate the whole aerodynamic package
developed by Lecon
Engineering and will
set a new highlight in Lecon Groupīs profound Heritage in
advanced automotive and sportscar construction
and development.
